American Job Centers (AJCs) provide free help to job seekers for a variety of career and employment-related needs. They help with employment planning, job training services, job search assistance, career counseling, practice interviewing, and skills testing, among many services.

Jobs4TN.gov offers job search tools and a free career explorer tool that identifies career traits you value, the types of jobs you can do well, and what job-related activities you like to do. You can use that information to find occupations that are compatible with your strengths and suitable to your needs, which will help you find careers where you can be successful and happy. You can also use their career informer tool to find salary information, job demand, education details and more. ACT® WorkKeys® Assessments can help whether you're thinking about the next phase of your education, launching a new career, or making a transition in your current job. WorkKeys testing can help you gain employment, prove proficiency or identify skills gaps. The quizzes measure essential workplace skills to project job performance and increase opportunities for career changes and advancement. Check with the local American Job Center to schedule a test.

Employment, Training and Job Placement Programs are available through the American Job Center, EDSI, and community organizations to youthveterans, college grads, ex-offendersadult and dislocated workers and families who qualify for TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families). If you need help navigating the process, reach out to the American Job Center in Murfreesboro.

Individuals with disabilities can receive help with training, job placement and support services through the Tennessee Vocational Rehabilitation Program. Our Smyrna campus offers comprehensive rehabilitation services through various vocational programs, and residential housing is available. Empower Tennessee is an employment network provider that can also assist with job placement, accessibility and independent living resources.

Justice-Involved Individuals and ex-offenders can reach out to Project ReturnTN Rehabilitation ServicesMen of Valor, or Doors of Hope in addition to the offices of probation and parole for assistance as they transition back into their local communities.
