Amazing Shake Elementary Competition
The Rutherford County Amazing Shake Elementary Competition is supported by Rutherford County Schools and Rutherford Works. In preparation for the competition, students learn how to properly conduct themselves in a professional setting by practicing a proper handshake, keeping eye contact, and other social skills. Participants compete by showcasing their networking, public speaking, and critical thinking skills while interacting with local community leaders during the competition.
8th Grade Career Pathways Fair
Eighth-grade students from Rutherford County middle schools can preview career and technical education (CTE) classes and potential careers over a two-week span before selecting their high school pathways. During the 8th Grade Career Pathways Fair, students will learn more about the 16 CTE pathways, meet with teachers, hear from high school students, and be introduced to industry professionals.
College and Career Planning Night
The College and Career Planning Night, hosted in partnership with Rutherford County Schools, is open to students and families interested in learning about college options, local careers, the armed forces, and financial planning resources. Students interested in college gain insight into majors, school culture, and financial aid. Those interested in other avenues can hear about job opportunities and career pathways in Middle Tennessee.
