Company plans 144 jobs in the new West Point Business Park
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Cintas Corporation, the nation’s leader in providing specialized services to businesses such as uniforms, supplies and safety materials, will open a regional operations center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The new facility will be located at the West Point Development, located off I-24 Exit 80 at New Salem Highway and Warrior Drive.
Cintas officials, along with Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland and the Rutherford County Industrial Development Board (IDB), announced Wednesday, October 30, that the development represents a $20 million capital investment in Murfreesboro.
As a result of the investment, 144 new jobs will be created with an average salary of $65,000, well over the county average of $49,322. The facility will be completed over the next year.
The operations center will house management and production teams. Because this location will serve Cintas’ regional accounts, the community will earn significant sales tax revenue from this location, potentially up to $1 million by the fifth year.
“We are proud to have an opportunity to become a part of the Murfreesboro community with the construction of our new facility,” said Dave Mercurio, general manager of Cintas in Murfreesboro. “This investment will not only bring new jobs to the area, but it will also help us serve a variety of businesses in Middle Tennessee.”
“As Murfreesboro grows and develops, I am excited to see Cintas make a bold commitment to invest in the growing I-24 business corridor becoming known as West Point,” said Mayor Shane McFarland. “This $20 million announced investment will bring close to 150 jobs over the next few years. We are confident that Cintas, which is well-known as a respected Fortune 500 company, will become a fantastic addition to our vibrant and growing community.”
“Today’s announcement solidifies what we already know—Murfreesboro offers a forward thinking, business-friendly environment and an outstanding quality of life for residents,” said Destination Rutherford Chairman Bill Jones. “We appreciate Cintas for sharing that belief, and we look forward to welcoming them to our community.”
Cintas is one of the largest companies in its industry with 45,000 employees and revenue in 2018 of $$6.89 billion billion
