The Amazing Shake (Rutherford County)

The Amazing Shake challenges students to develop and showcase professional etiquette, confidence, and communication skills through a dynamic three-tiered competition: school-level, county-level, and national-level.

Rutherford Works hosts the county-level competition for students in grades 4–8 across Murfreesboro City Schools, Rutherford County Schools, and private schools throughout Rutherford County.

This competition is geared toward students in grades 4–8 across Murfreesboro City Schools, Rutherford County Schools, and private schools throughout Rutherford County! For additional information, contact Kaitlin Salyer at ksalyer@rutherfordchamber.org.

The deadline to register participating schools has been extended to Friday, October 3, at NOON.

The county-level competition will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Judges are needed for the following competition categories: Business Networking, Professional Business Luncheon, The Gauntlet Competition, The Power Panel, and The Shake Showcase. In each category, judges will engage with elementary and middle school students to rate skills such as giving a proper handshake, confidence while networking, giving a successful interview, and remaining composed under pressure. The goal is to prepare our students to present themselves exceptionally well for opportunities today as well as for those that will come in the future.

The deadline to register as a volunteer judge is Monday, February 2.
