(Rutherford County, Tenn.) — Sixty-five hiring employers are trying to fill over 1,400 job vacancies during an outdoor job fair hosted by Rutherford Works, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce’s workforce development arm.

All jobseekers, from teenagers to experienced professionals, will have an opportunity to talk with hiring recruiters, submit resumes and schedule or conduct introductory interviews from 3 – 6 p.m. on April 27 in the TCAT Smyrna parking lot.

Participating industries include banking, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, education, health care, IT, public safety, agriculture and more. Employers are hiring for a diverse range of jobs including entry-level roles such as customer service and material handlers to more experienced positions, like registered nurse (RN) supervisors and financial center managers.
“We scheduled this event later in the day so that teens, parents, unemployed and working professionals could have access to talk directly with employers without disrupting their daily schedules,” stated Rutherford Works Senior Vice-President of Education and Workforce Development Beth Duffield.

Attendees will also be able to navigate the job fair based on the job’s location. “We laid out the booths so that anyone seeking work in Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Vergne, or surrounding counties, including Davidson, could easily locate which employers are hiring in those areas,” added Duffield.

Additionally, safety precautions will be in full effect. Jobseekers must wear masks when social distancing is not possible while on TCAT property, and hand sanitizer will be available to all attendees. A limited quantity of face masks will also be available.

An ongoing list of registered companies and open jobs is available at https://rutherfordworks.com/spring-2021-job-fair. Interested jobseekers are encouraged to register so they receive event updates and reminders.
Rutherford Works has partnered with TCAT Smyrna, Workforce Essentials, the American Job Center, Murfreesboro City and Rutherford County Schools to host this event. TCAT Smyrna is located at 663 Ken Pilkerton Dr, Smyrna, TN 37167.
