Senior Hiring Event
Rutherford Works, the economic development arm of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Rutherford County Schools and the Department of Labor, will host a hiring event on April 10, 2018 at Blackman High School for participating Rutherford County School seniors.
Employers will be able to market summer, part-time, and full-time positions to more than 400 graduating high school seniors. Interview rooms will be available for immediate hiring.
The second annual Senior Hiring Event is expanding in 2018! Graduating seniors from 9 Rutherford County high schools will travel to Blackman High for this year’s event. With resumes in hand, students will be given the opportunity to pre-apply, interview, and be hired for job openings on the spot.
Prior to the event, students at participating high schools take part in a series of developmental workshops, ranging from dress for success, resume building, personal branding, and more!

While 63% of Rutherford County High School graduates continue on to some type of post-secondary education, many of those students will work part time while in college. Whether going to college or entering the workforce immediately after high school, young adults often struggle to find meaningful employment.
The Rutherford Works Senior Hiring Fair was created to connect soon to be high school graduates with employers in our high wage, high demand industry sectors, including Construction, Health Care, IT, Logistics and Manufacturing, Hospitality & Tourism and other service industries.
