The primary purpose of the Rutherford County Health Care Advisory Council is to address the current and projected shortages of health care professionals in Rutherford County. A secondary purpose is to establish partnership and opportunities for collaboration between health care providers where partnerships have not existed before.

Our Goals for 2018

MOUs for 30 high school clinicals for 4th year practicum, CNA classes and other certification TBD by August 2018

All high school health science students at all high schools have opportunity to earn some type of industry certifications beginning fall 2018

Expand k-16 Allied Health offerings in Rutherford County by adding a new program of study at the community college level and corresponding opportunity if possible at the high school level by 2019-2010 school year.

    • High School Health Science Clinical Program

      The Health Science Clinical program is designed to help students gain hands-on experience in the health care field. Students take the clinical class after three years of study in the health science Career and Technical Education Health Science Pathway.

    • Medical Lab Technician Program

      Motlow State Community College will be implementing a Medical Lab Technician Program in the summer of 2017. Medical Lab Technicians are in high demand in Middle Tennessee. By 2024, Rutherford County is expected to see a 17% increase in Medical Lab technician positions.
